🥘 Kohla Varka Chana Masala Recipe

🧂 Ingredients:

  • White chickpeas (Kabuli chana) – 1 cup (soaked overnight)

  • Onion – 2 medium (finely chopped)

  • Tomato – 2 medium (pureed or finely chopped)

  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp

  • Green chili – 1 (optional, slit)

  • Oil – 2 tbsp

  • Kohla Varka Chana Masala – 2 tbsp

  • Salt – to taste

  • Fresh coriander – for garnish

  • Water – as needed

  • Lemon wedges & onion rings – for serving

  • A pinch of Kohla Varka Amchoor Powder or lemon juice for tang


👨‍🍳 Cooking Instructions:

  1. Boil Chickpeas:
    Pressure cook soaked chickpeas with salt and enough water for 4–5 whistles until soft.

  2. Make the Masala Base:
    Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden.
    Add ginger-garlic paste and green chili. Sauté for 1–2 minutes.
    Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates.

  3. Add the Flavor:
    Mix in Kohla Varka Chana Masala. Sauté the masala well for 2–3 minutes.

  4. Combine with Chickpeas:
    Add the boiled chickpeas (with water as needed). Simmer on low flame for 10–15 minutes until flavors blend well.

  5. Garnish & Serve:
    Top with chopped coriander, onion rings, and lemon juice. Serve hot with bhature, puri, or rice.
